Mr. Joseph Long comes to St. Agnes with a wealth of experience. Both his undergraduate degree in Theology and his graduate work in Theology were done at Villanova University.

For twenty-five years he was on the Pastoral Staff of St. Patrick’s Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He has broad experience in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Liturgy, Adult Formation and Children’s Religious Education. He has been a Facilitator/Teacher in the Lay Formation Program of the Diocese of Raleigh, and a member of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission as well as the RCIA Advisory Committee of Raleigh. Prior to his work as a leader of Faith Formation, he taught fifth grade in a Catholic school in Philadelphia.

In addition to running the Religious Education program here at St. Agnes, his responsibilities
will be broadened to include, among other things, the enhancement of adult formation
programs for active and inactive Catholics, assisting the priests and deacon with programs
for parents who are bringing their children for the Sacraments, using social media as a tool
for evangelization and formation and reaching out to returning Catholics.
