Dear Parishioners:
As I have done in the past, I write to update you on our Parish life here at St. Agnes. I especially bring to your attention some opportunities for prayer and reflection.
1.      We will once again be providing the opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration on Friday from 12:00 to 3 PM. While we are unable to physically receive Jesus in Communion, being in the presence of Jesus gives us strength and consolation. The Cathedral continues to be open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM for individual prayer.   There is plenty of room in the Church, and I once again ask everyone to keep a safe distance between yourself and others.
2.      Over the past three days, in anticipation and celebration of the Feast of the Annunciation on March 25th, about 50 of us have joined together at 9:00 AM by means of a phone conference call and prayed the Rosary together. While we previously announced that we would be doing this until Saturday of this week, because of the wonderful response, we will extend this opportunity to gather and pray the Rosary to Wednesday of Holy Week (April 8th). We welcome you joining us. One simply needs to dial: (978) 990-5000 and use the access code: 751583# to join our “Rosary group.”
3.      While for many of us, this is a much more quiet time than usual, it can also be a productive time for us to open ourselves up to God’s Word in Scripture. Prayerfully reflecting on God’s word can give us strength and peace and allows us to grow in our relationship with our Almighty GodThe ancient practice of Lectio Divina (Divine Reading) is a wonderful method to help in this way.
For those unfamiliar with this method of prayer you may wish to watch the following presentation made by the Monks of the Abbey of Notre Dame de Fontgombault.

4.      As you may know, one of our parish ministries is the Prayer Ministries whereby people, some of whom are homebound, receive a mailing each month giving them a listing of the prayer requests that people have placed in the Prayer box that is located at the American Martyrs shrine of the Cathedral. Since many of us are “homebound” at this time, I have attached the mailing that has gone out for April. Perhaps you would wish to participate in this ministry
5.      And finally, please know Masses are continued to be offered for the intentions for which they have been arranged. And while the rectory office is presently closed, anyone who would like to arrange for an announced or unannounced Mass can do so by emailing the Parish Office at: ParishOffice@StAgnesCathedral.org

With prayers,
Fr. Bill
